For this to apply, the guardian must be aware of these rules and regulations as well as the conditions that appear on the information on the page for purchasing a fishing license for children and young people. Fishing is only permitted with hand gear, so-called "jerk fishing" is strictly prohibited! All fishing with fixed gear, e.g. nets, traps, etc. is not permitted. Lakes All fishing should be done with caution and respect for sustainable fishing. Consideration must absolutely be given to cottage and property owners. Running water Fishing from a boat is not permitted. Fishing with natural baits (worms, shrimp, bait fish, etc.) is not permitted. All winter fishing such as ice fishing/ice flotation is not permitted. The tributaries Myllyjoki and Mailiojoki These waterways are so-called "nursery areas" for trout and salmon fry and are therefore not open to fishing. Trout and salmon fry grow up in the watercourses and after a few years move out to larger waters. When adult fish return to the stream/streams, a single female can become the parent of several hundred fish. Protecting play and growth areas is therefore a very important part of our efforts to build up the trout and salmon stocks in the Ängesån water system. Tributary of the Pierujoki River All trout caught must be released, see above about Myllyjoki and Mailiojoki. Salmon fishing Minimum dimensions 50 cm Hand-held fishing for salmon is permitted from June 1 to August 31. All salmon caught after this date must be released back into the watercourse. Only 1(one) salmon per angler per day may be caught and kept. The annual quota is 3 salmon per fishing license. Trout fishing Only 1 (one) trout per angler per day that is between 30 cm and 45 cm may be kept when fishing. Hand-held fishing for trout is permitted between June 1 and August 31. From September 1st to October 14th, the trout are protected during their spawning season. This protects both growing fish, smolt, and larger spawning fish that have migrated up from the sea. Grayling fishing A maximum of 5 (five) fish with a minimum size of 35 cm may be kept. Grayling fishing with hand gear is permitted except in winter and from April 15 to May 31. Was the fishing better before? .. well, maybe it was, but we are working to rebuild the tribes. If you would like to contribute your bit, please contact someone on the Information Board. In addition to the above rules, National rules apply, these take precedence. The above rules apply until further notice and may change during the season.
