Skeingesjöns FVO Rules for fishing within the Skeingesjön`s Fisheries conservation area 1. Basic rules for fishing according to the statutes for the Skeingesjön`s FVO. The following detailed rules for fishing are recorded in the minutes of the fishing meeting with the Skeingesjön`s Fisheries conservation area 22/3 2006: • Visitors must respect the following rules: • Be prepared to show a valid fishing licence (traditional fishing licence or digital i-fishing licence) • Maximum two rods per fisherman. Closed periods: Pike-perch 1/5-31/5 Trout 1/10-31/12 Minimum and maximum dimensions : Pike allowed from 50 cm to max. 80 cm, other Pike must be handled carefully and released as soon as possible. Pike-perch allowed from 45 cm to max. 70 cm, other Pike must be handled carefully and released as soon as possible. Trout allowed from 40 cm, other Trout must be handled carefully and released as soon as possible. - It is only allowed to take a maximum of 2 approved fish from the lake per day and fishing license. (Applies to pike, pike-perch and trout) If additional approved fish are caught, they must be handled carefully and released back into the lake immediately. The catfish is protected and must be released. • Crayfish fishing is prohibited within the entire Skeingesjön Fisheries Conservation area. • Special ruls apply to angling: Angler with a valid fishing licence can purchase a day fishing licence for 100 cronas and is valid for a maximum of 10 anglings. • Guests of fishing rights holders may fish without purchasing a fishing licence if the fishing rights holder participates in the fishing or if the fishing is conducted in connection with the fishing rights holder's property or jetty. • Children and young people up to 16 years of age have the right to fish without a fishing licence, upon presentation of identification. Depth maps can be purchased from local agents and on the website www.ifiske.se The lake is regularly patrolled by fishing inspectors. Ban on the use of live transducers when fishing in Skeingesjön The annual meeting of the Skeingesjön Fisheries Conservation Association decides that from 2026-03-11 it is prohibited to use so-called “live transducers” when fishing in the entire Skeingesjön and Helgå water system. The decision was made at the association’s annual meeting and is valid until further notice Unpermitted technology The ban covers multi-beam technology where fish and bait can be seen in real time, for example systems called “LiveScope”, “Active Target” and “MegaLive” or equivalent. Approved echo sounder technologies Traditional echo sounders with CHIRP transducers, including side scan and down scan, are still permitted. These technologies are mainly used to map bottom structure and identify schools of fish without providing a real-time picture of the movements of individual fish. Purpose of the ban The ban is being introduced to: - Protect fish stocks and promote sustainable fishing. - Reduce the risk of overfishing of larger fish through advanced real-time imaging. - Preserve fair and sporting fishing where traditional methods are rewarded.
