Österåkers Sportfiskeklubb Fishing rods: If you fish in ÖSFK's waters, you are responsible for informing yourself about the rules that apply and following them. See information boards and www.osfk.org. Fishing is free for ÖSFK members and for children/young people under 18 years of age. For others, a fishing license must be purchased before fishing begins . Violations of fishing regulations will be prosecuted. All fishing is at your own risk. Åkers Canal - lower part: * Fishing is permitted downstream from the footbridge over Åkers Canal at Hackstavägen to the mouth in Tunafjärden. For the stretch from Slussholmen to the footbridge over Åkers Canal at Hackstavägen, there is a fishing ban all year round. (NB! There is also a total fishing ban all year round in Smedbyån, which connects to Åkers Canal) * During the period September 15 - December 31, there is a total fishing ban in the entire Åker Canal to protect the sea trout that spawn during this period. * A maximum of one hand tool may be used at a time per fisherman. * Asp and Eel are protected species and mandatory release applies . For Sea Trout, the minimum size is 50 cm, for Zander, the minimum size is 45 and the maximum is 65 cm and the maximum is 2 fish/day, for Pike, the minimum size is 40 and the maximum is 75 cm and the maximum is 2 fish/day, for Perch, the maximum size is 37 cm and the maximum is 4 fish/day. Trastsjön and Södersjön: When fishing in Trastsjön and Södersjön, a fishing license is required for everyone over the age of 18. Fishing licenses can be purchased via iFiske.se. The ÖSFK board has the right to grant exemptions from the specified rules. Only fishing from shore is permitted and it is prohibited to fish a fishing spot. Allowed fishing methods: - Maximum ONE hand gear (spinning rod, fly rod or fishing rod) per fisherman - For CARP FISHING, a maximum of THREE hand tools (fishing rods) per fisherman applies. Protected species: - Carp (Mirror Carp and Grass Carp) and Tench are protected and there is a mandatory release for these. Rules for carp and tench fishing: - There should be a 42”/106 cm carp net and an unhooking mat available - Nets, unhooking mats and slings etc. must be dry upon arrival at the lake. This is to avoid the spread of diseases. Minimum dimensions and catch limits: - Pike have window withdrawals min 40 if max 75 cm and max 2 fish/day - Perch has a maximum size of 37 cm and a maximum of 4 fish/day. Prohibited fishing methods: - Fishing with nets, gillnets or other fixed gear - Fishing from a boat, float ring or other floating craft. Motors (electric or petrol) are not permitted.
