Nedre Norsälvens FVOF Important to respect the minimum size of 75 cm for salmon and trout We would like to remind you that the minimum size for keeping salmon and trout is 75 cm. It is especially important to follow this right now, as large quantities of juvenile fish have recently been released to strengthen the endangered stocks. Releasing smaller fish is crucial to giving them a chance to grow up and reproduce. Together we can contribute to long-term and sustainable fishing. Fishing Licenses and Laws : Fishing without a valid fishing license or in violation of regulations will result in a police report. Violations of local regulations may result in a control fee of SEK 1,000 , which is collected by appointed fishing inspectors. Changes : The association may change rules if necessary. Speed limit : Maximum 5 knots applies in Norsälven. Fishing from the Edsvalla power plant bridge is prohibited . • All fishing with multiple fishing gear, such as nets, cages, traps and the like, is completely prohibited. Fishing regulations Fishing license : Mandatory for everyone over 14 years of age. The card is personal and may not be transferred. ID must be brought. Free fishing : Children up to 14 years old fish for free, but must follow the rules. Exception : Fishing zone 1 requires a fishing license August 15 – December 31 . Gear restriction : Max 2 hand gear per person (fishing rod, casting rod, fly rod or ice rod). Mishooked, protected fish or fish that fall outside the applicable maximum or minimum size must be released, regardless of whether it is dead or alive. Trolling/trawling : Allowed with a maximum of 1 rod per fisherman . Please be considerate of shore anglers. Catch restrictions Salmon/trout : Minimum dimensions : 75 cm. Max 1 fish/day per fisherman until September 15. When/if a fisherman has caught an approved salmon/trout (applies regardless of whether it is kept or released), the fishing license is forfeited on the same day and fishing must therefore be terminated. Wild salmon/trout (with adipose fin) must always be released . Zander : Only fish between 50-70 cm may be kept . Max 3 pike perch/day per fisherman. Fishermen who have reached their catch quota must stop fishing. Pike : Pike over 100 cm should be released. Eel and asp : Protected all year round. Handling of fish : Keep caught fish close to you for easy inspection. Be careful when releasing the fish – wet your hands and unhook the fish in the water if possible. Fishing zones Fishing zone 1 (Nedströms Edsvallabron to the jetty) has special rules from August 15th to December 31st : August 15 – September 15 : Only salmon/trout fishing is allowed with specific hook sizes . A single hook with a maximum size of 13mm or a double or triple hook with a maximum gap of 9mm. Boat fishing prohibited during this period. Only spinning, spinning fly and fly rod allowed . Fishing only permitted between 05:00 and 00:00 . September 16 – December 31: Fishing prohibited in the zone except during any exemption fishing. Prohibited area : Fishing from the bridge and upstream as well as the industrial area. Exceptions to normal fishing license prices Fishing zone 1 (August 15 – September 15, and during any exemption fishing) : Day pass 250 SEK. NOTE that annual passes are not valid for fishing in zone 1.
