Säffle Sportfiskeförening Rules for fishing in the Byälven River. General rules Fishing for Zander is banned between April 25th and first Saturday in July All fishing in Zone 1 and 2 is prohibited between 00.01-12.00. Fishing for Eel and Asp is banned in all of the Byälven River. Children fish without a license until 22.00 in zone 2 and 3 until the year they turn 16 provided they are members of Säffle sportfishing association. The Max number of Zanders caught per person/day is 2. When 2 Zanders have been caught and kept the fishing pass is considered terminated. All caught fish that are not released back into the water shall be placed visible next to the fisherman. All caught fish that are not released back into the water must be reported to Säffle sport fishing association via ifiske.se or to the association’s fishing hosts located in the fishing cabin in zone 1. The size of the Zander that you are allowed to catch is 45-65cm. All Zanders caught outside of this measure shall be immediately released back into the water. A fishing permit is not required for fishing Smelt and the Smelt must only be caught with a landing net. Snatch fishing and fishing with nets is prohibited, an exception is made for fishing with nets to catch bait fish. During the period of time between 1st of October – 1st of April, Zone 3-licenses also allows fishing in Zone 2. You are also allowed to fish the west side of zone 2 between the southernmost floodgate and pumping station in Zone 2 during this time period. Specific rules for zone 1 There is a total fishing ban in Zone 1 between April 25th and first Saturday in July The maximum amount of fishermen in Zone 1 per day is 20. All barbs on the hooks used for Fishing in Zone 1 needs to be removed . The maximum amount of fishing rods per person is 1. You purchase a fixed fishing spot in Zone 1 between 12:00PM to 12:00AM and are not allowed to swap or change place. Fishing with or from a boat is not permitted. Fishing for perch is allowed using a top-knocked rod at the designated location. Specific rules for zone 2 There is a total fishing ban in Zone 2 between April 25th and first Saturday in July The maximum amount of fishing rods per person is 1. Fishing with or from a boat is not permitted. All fishing is banned on the western side of Zone 2, an exception is made for the pier. When fishing in Zone 2, a distance of 3 meters shall be kept between those who fish. Specific rules for zone 3 Two hand tools per fisherman or max three per boat are allowed. Trolling is forbidden between April 25th and first Saturday in July Fishing for Zander is banned between April 25th and first Saturday in July The Norther parts off Zon 3 starts above the orange bouys. The Säffle sportfishing association’s supervisors are responsible for the compliance of the fishing rules. Upon request, all equipment, fishing licenses and caught fish shall be displayed. On request, the contents of bags and cars must also be shown in regards to Section 34 of the Act on Fisheries Act 1993: 787. Failure to follow the fishing rules may result in suspension of all fishing in the Association’s waters for up to 5 years. The association’s supervisors are entitled to ban any person who violates the Fising rules, or who acts in a way that damages the association’s reputation or interests and seize the equipment used in breach of the fishing rules.
