By domestic need we mean that fishing is done with restraint and consideration. Do not catch more fish than you need. ALL SALES OF FISH FROM OUR WATERS ARE PROHIBITED, a control fee of 4400 SEK will be issued for violations of this. NOTE: Fishing with pike scissors is prohibited. Fishing with nets is ONLY permitted by landowners in the area who own individual fishing rights. (contact the Land Survey of Sweden if you have questions about your property) For fishing with fixed gear (e.g. Russian) or other mobile gear than nets by fishing rights holders, a special permit is required from the board of the fisheries management area. We ask you to report unmarked/poorly marked nets to the board of the fisheries management area. The Skellefteå Municipality youth fishing license is valid in our waters. The same fishing rules apply to everyone. FISHING RULES IN BRIEF: Only catch & release for trout, grayling and salmon These species must not be kept but must be handled carefully and released back into the wild. Mandatory catch reporting of trout, grayling and salmon, which MUST be reported within 24 hours. Catch reporting is done on our website www.burealven.se Minimum dimensions: Pikeperch: 40 cm (pikeperch shorter than 40 cm MUST be released) (the minimum size applies according to national fishing legislation (HVMFS-FiFS 2004:37) Maximum dimensions: Zander: 60 cm (zander longer than 60cm MUST be released) All fish that do not meet these size restrictions MUST be immediately released, regardless of condition. Bag limit: Zander: max 3 zanders / person / day. The Bure River has a unique pike perch population, one of the few in Norrland. We are concerned about this and therefore have certain restrictions on pike perch fishing. Pike recommendation: Release all pikes over 100cm, large individuals are important for the stocks and if released they have more chance of catching the dream fish. Do not fish for spawning fish, leave the pikes alone at the spawning bays during the spring. Closed periods for fishing in the Bure River: - 1/9-14/10 - fishing for trout and salmon is prohibited during their spawning period, according to national fisheries legislation (FIFS 2004:36). Locally, we in the fisheries conservation association have decided on total protection during this period. NO fishing is allowed in the Bureälven stream during the trout and salmon spawning period (applies to the entire stream from Bursjön to the sea + Vikfors). - 15/4 - 31/5 Closed season for grayling, no fishing for the species may be conducted during this period. PLEASE NOTE THAT FISHING IN THE LAKES IS ALLOWED DURING THESE PEACE PERIODS. With this fishing license you can fish in hundreds of waters within Skellefteå municipality. The various fisheries conservation areas offer a varied range of fishing and in many places there are also boats for rent. Remember that it is important to follow fishing rules. Also keep in mind that fishing rules can vary between different areas. You get the best information about local rules from the respective fisheries conservation association, for example via their website. The youth fishing license is a collaboration between Skellefteå municipality and local FVO (fisheries conservation area associations).
