Mora-Våmhus FVOF FISHING REGULATIONS 2026 FISHING LICENSE Everyone who engages in fishing shall have the right to fish by being a card holder. Children under 18 years of age fish for free within FVO even without a guardian but must follow applicable rules. for each water. Free fishing for children does not apply when fishing in our put & take waters (P&T) with planted rainbow trout such as Skepphusvik etc. where a special fishing permit (daily permit) is required. Fishing licenses available for purchase are annual licenses, weekly licenses, daily licenses, and special daily licenses. for P&T water. There are also guest cards and group cards. Fishing licenses can be purchased via www.ifiske.se and through our agents. List of agents, Price list and fishing map are available on our website; www.mvfvof.se . Category 1 (partner/fishing rights owner/local resident ) Owners of agricultural property with a share in a village association are considered co-owners/fishing rights owners. fishing within Mora and Våmhus parishes in Mora municipality. Partners have the right to redeem partner cards and a guest card for accompanying guest. Also spouse and children of co-owners/fishing rights owners and their respective spouses have the right to redeem co-ownership cards. The property designation who has the fishing right must be stated when purchasing a card. Category 1 also includes local residents, i.e. those registered in the Mora and Våmhus parishes. Residents outside the FVO but owners of other properties (without fishing rights) within its boundaries are counted as a local resident and can obtain a fishing license for category 1. Category 1 fishermen may use all legal gear unless there are specific restrictions. Fishing with nets is only permitted in certain lakes, see list under the heading "All other waters". The net floats must be marked with names and telephone numbers. Category 2 (other) Category 2 includes other fishermen registered outside the Mora-Våmhus FVO and tourists. Fishermen in category 2 may only use one hand tool and 10 tackle/ice bait rods when angling where Hand gear refers to one hand-held rod per person and a pull rod with a line. Otter and trolling are therefore not considered hand tools. However, there are exceptions regarding rules for trolling / otter fishing in Siljan / Orsasjön, see separate appendix. GUEST CARD Only fishing rights holders may personally bring a guest if a guest card fee has been paid. Guest may fish with the same type of gear as the fishing rights owner. Guest may only fish together with the fishing rights owner, not on your own. Guest cards are not valid as family cards. FAMILY CARD For category 1, fishing licenses apply as family licenses for the spouse and cohabitant. Family members may use the same type of equipment as the cardholder. Family members who fish on their own must be able to prove their identity and possession of a fishing license. For waters with catch restrictions, the number of fish allowed applies as for a fishing license. GROUP CARD Group cards valid for one day can be purchased for groups, associations, companies and organizations. at individual events. Group tickets can only be purchased at some of our agents and are only valid at fishing in other waters where no fish are released. The group card is also not valid for fishing in waters with catch restrictions and with natural populations of trout/char and grayling. CRAB FISHING Fishing licenses are required and are only allowed for fishermen in category 1 during the period May 16th to October 15th. Maximum 10 cages / card. No catch limit or minimum size applies. The floats must be marked with names and telephone numbers. PUT AND TAKE WATER Skepphusvik at Moraparken Rainbow Fishing all year round only from land/ice. Special fishing permits (daily permits) are valid and can be purchased at iFiske.se or Moraparken Hotel. Only one hand tool. Max: 2 fish/card/day. Children under 10 years of age fish with a guardian. fishing license and quota. HYRFISHING WATER / PUT AND TAKE WATER Grave pond at Våmhus Rainbow Open May 20 – September 30. Gravtjärn can be rented for a full day by private individuals or companies, with special rules. Both sides of the river from 50 m downstream of Blybergsdammen to Spjutmosjön Trout ; 16/5 – 31/8. Min 35 cm. Trout with adipose fin remaining is naturally produced and must be released regardless of size. Grayling; 16/5 – 31/8, from 1/9 – 31/12 only fly fishing is allowed. Window outlet grayling: 25–35 cm Rivers in contact with Lake Siljan/Orsasjön , Lädeån, Hemulån, Rädån, Våmån, Bossån and Fuån Trout fishing is prohibited all year round downstream of the first migration barrier according to the map. Fishing is permitted in other parts. 16/5 – 31/8. Maximum 30 cm. Grayling ; 16/5 – 31/12. Lower Dalälven special rules All trout and grayling over 35 cm must be released as they are important breeding fish. However, one exception is made be made per day of one (1) fish over 35 cm. Max 3 fish (trout/gray) per day and card. Net fishing ban and trout fishing ban during the spawning period 15/8–31/12. The upper boundary is Bastubacken Bridge and the southern side from the B-bridge to Moraparken's border towards Hemus. The lower limit is a line from the cape at Bältervik to the northern cape of Stora Prästholmen and to the north the cape of Tvärholmen. The border in the Orsälven (Norsälven) is a line from the southeastern cape of Legranäs to The nearest point on Sandängarna. Fishing regulations Category 1: (Property owners, fishing rights holders and local residents) Dimensions and catch limits for Trout Trout with adipose fins remaining are protected and should be released. Catch limit for fin-clipped trout 2 pieces/day and fishing license with minimum size of 55 cm. Caught trout must be landed whole, only evisceration is permitted before landing. Filleted fish count such as illegal fishing. Dimensions for other species Recommendation to release Pike over 100 cm. The aim is to get predation on Bream, Id and smaller Pike. Perch over 40 cm should be released. Permitted tools and their limitations: Movable tools : Nets: Maximum 6 bottom-set nets with a total net length of no more than 180 m. Nets should be marked at each end with names and telephone numbers. A longline with a maximum of 100 hooks. Longlines must be set on the bottom, hooks must not be floating. Net, for fishing for Siklöja. Fixed gear Max 10 Russians. Must be labeled with name and phone number. Max 10 bucks. Must be labeled with name and phone number. Trolling and ostracizing: Trolling and otter fishing with a maximum of 10 rods/lures per boat and fishing license. When trolling and casting, the boat must be moving. Traditional casting is permitted. Angling and ice fishing : Max 10 fishing rods/ice fishing rods from the ice. Hand gear fishing: A hand tool from a boat or land/ice. Crayfish fishing: 10 cages/card. Must be marked with a float with name and phone number. Fishing allowed from May 16th to October 15th. Other fishing methods and gear : Forbidden Recommendations : Use only 1 hook set/bait type Vättern. The aim is to damage fish that are to be released so as little as possible. Do not target trout with nets. It is difficult to return fish that are not allowed from nets. Conservation areas : Net fishing prohibited 300 meters outside the outlet of inflowing watercourses beyond existing restricted areas. SILJAN / ORSASJÖN Fishing rules Category 2 (tourists) Dimensions and catch limits for Trout Trout with adipose fins remaining are protected and should be released. Rädsjön, Lake Ulvsjön, Lake Oxbergsjön, Skepphussjön, Lindsjöarna, Rysssjön, N. and S. Avskaken, Sästjärn, Jugan, Djupsjön, Rotsjön, Stor-Tramsen, Acksisjön, and Myckelsjön. Nets must be marked with name and phone number. GENERAL PROVISIONS There is a total fishing ban in flowing water from the first migration obstacle and 50 m downstream. At Våmån power plant, 200 m applies. Trout fishing ban applies in flowing water and net ban applies. within a radius of 300 m from the inlet and outlet of lakes during the period 1/9–31/12. Live fish as bait is prohibited in all fishing. Hand tools include one hand-held rod per person and a rowing machine with a line. JOINT PROVISIONS with neighboring fisheries management areas The dredge is jointly managed by Mora-Våmhus FVOF, Orsa FVOF and Rättvik-Boda FVOF. Ickån and Icksjön are jointly managed by Mora-Våmhus FVOF and Rättvik-Boda FVOF. The Dalälven River from Spjutmodammen up to Blybergsdammen is jointly managed by Mora-Våmhus FVOF and Älvdalen FVOF. Agreement has been reached with Orsa FVOF regarding fishing licenses and fishing with a hand-held device in Orsasjön. See further information on our website; www.mvfvof.se. Agreement between Mora-Våmhus FVOF, Sollerö FVOF and Siljan Södra FVOF has been reached regarding common provisions within the boundaries of fishery conservation areas regarding fishing permits and fishing in Siljan / Orsasjön. See further information on our website mvfvof.se and the fishing rules regarding Lake Siljan/Orsasjön in this fishing license appendix. SUPERVISION and CONTROL FEE The Fisheries Conservation Area Association charges a fee (inspection fee) if someone who has the right to fish within fishing in the fishery conservation area in violation of prohibitions or in accordance with the statutes or decisions of the fishery council applies to fishing within the area. Any catch in this case goes to the fishing conservation area association. The inspection fee is levied with the support of 31§Lag (2010:1874) and is currently SEK 4,000 for Mora-Våmhus FVOF. If the fee is not paid within the specified time, a reminder will be sent with a new specified payment deadline. If the fee remains unpaid after that, the debt collection law will come into effect. Prosecution can then be brought within two years. Illegal fishing, without a fishing license or other permit, fishing of protected species or in protected areas such as is decided by an authority is not covered by the inspection fee. In this case, a police report is made and the equipment seized. Price 200:- SEK per card for a maximum of 2 fish. Fishing licenses can only be purchased via ifiske.se, see sign. Fishing only permitted from land with a rod (hand gear) Fishing from floating equipment (e.g. boat, canoe, raft, floating ring) is prohibited. Only one rod per card is allowed. Fish other than game fish are not counted. More cards may be solved. Children under 10 years of age fish together with a guardian on the guardian's quota. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred. Inspections will be carried out by supervisors and fishing licenses must be presented by phone or printout, as well as identification. The fisherman must ensure that the established rules are followed. In the event of a violation of the rules of the Fisheries Conservation Area Association, an inspection fee (currently SEK 4,000) may be charged in accordance with the Fisheries Conservation Areas Act (1981:533).
