Ljusdals FVO Rules for fishing within Ljusdals FVO 2022 To fish, a valid fishing license is required according to the Fishing Act (1993:787). NOTE! We have an exception. It concerns Kyrksjön in central Ljusdal. Fishing is free there. The fishing license is personal. It must be carried while fishing and shown to the police, fishing inspection personnel or fishing rights holders upon request. An inspection fee is issued for violations of the association's fishing regulations. See more info below under INSPECTION FEE. Children under 15 years of age fish for free when accompanied by a guardian. If you are between 15-18 years old, you can get a free youth card via I-fiske. On the day you turn 18, you get a card as an adult. The youth card entitles you to fishing with only hand gear on water within the fishery conservation area. The youth card is NOT valid on our P&T waters and Leån. No trash may be left. Everything must be taken home. Absolutely no cigarette butts may be thrown into the waters. Fires should be lit with caution in designated areas. All fires are at your own risk. ALL fishing is done for domestic needs and caught fish may NOT be resold. NOTE! When you come from another municipality, we ask that you wash your boat before launching it, due to the risk of infection. Fishing methods Fishing with pike scissors is not permitted. Fishing with otter boards prohibited. There is a ban on mashing. Grappling hook not allowed. Jerk fishing is not permitted. A ban on fishing with otter boards applies in all waters. Powerbait pellets not allowed. (only dough may be used) You are allowed to fish with sport fishing gear. That is, fly fishing rod, fishing rod, casting rod or ice rod. Please note that only fly fishing rods are allowed in Sarvtjärn. Fishing from land or ice may be done with one gear per fisherman. Trolling: Max one trout per day and boat. Catch window 40-60 cm. Special Trolling license required. Angling: Fishing from ice with a maximum of 15 rods per fisherman Live bait is prohibited. Only bait from waters within the fishery conservation area. Floating is permitted in Råtjärn, Klacktjärn, Stora- and lilla Svartsjön. No oars may be used. In our P&T waters you are allowed to take a daily catch of 3 game fish/card. PT waters are Lilla and Stora Svartsjön and Sarvtjärn. You can redeem a maximum of 2 cards/day in Lilla and Stora Svartsjön, combi cards. In Sarvtjärn, 1 card/day is valid. The quota may not be exceeded. Minimum and Maximum dimensions (all waters except Put & Take waters) Trout 40 – 60 cm. Catch window. Fish under and over these dimensions must be released back. Grayling mini size 30 cm Pike perch mini size 50 cm. Pike. All pikes over 80 cm must be released. The fish need to be left alone during their spawning period. Times when fishing for these species is prohibited: Trout ban in all waters 1/9 – 31/12. Grayling ban in all waters 1/4 – 15/5. Zander ban in all waters 1/6 – 1/7 Net fishing Net fishing may only be conducted by registered residents and fishing right holders in the waters where net fishing is permitted according to the provisions below. Only annual passes entitle you to phishing. Fishing right holders and those registered with an annual card are allowed to set up to 5 nets or 150 m of net length with a maximum depth of the nets of 6 feet (1.83 m) and a mesh size of at least 40 mm. The nets must be marked with the owner's name and telephone number. Netting is only permitted in Hennansjön, Storsjön, Bäckesjön, Alsjön, Bursen, Klockarsjön, Letsjön, Medasen, Gryttjen, Gunnarsbosjön, Opplisjön, Örasjön between Hälsingenybo and Ramsjö, Gussjön In all other waters, a net ban applies. A total net ban applies within 200 m of all inlets and outlets in the aforementioned lakes. Float fishing Put-and Takewater. As usual, you buy a card in the P&T water you want to fish + an additional card for a float ring which costs 50:-/day. Applies to Stora- and Lilla Svartsjön. Floating is NOT allowed in Sarvtjärn. For other waters, no additional card is required. Middle light The fly fishing stretch, the 450-meter-long upper part of the Morvall stream, is for fly fishing only. A maximum of 1 trout/gray may be kept per day. Other routes fly and spin, maximum 3 grayling/trout may be kept per day. Catch window for trout 40-60 cm and minimum size for grayling 30 centimeters, minimum size for pike 50 cm, maximum size for pike 80 cm. Fishing from a boat is not permitted in flowing water (Morvall-Forsnäset stretch, as well as Edängeforsen). Ljusnan is open for fishing in the streams 15/5-30/9. Trout is protected from 1/9 – 31/12. Grayling can be fished until 30/9. The stretch between Forsnäset – Edängeforsen is open for fishing all year round. The same rules apply, of course, to pike, trout, grayling and pike-perch as in other parts of the FVO. NOTE! In Ljusnan between Morvall-Forsnäset and Edängeforsen, fishing with baited hooks is prohibited. Worms, maggots and all live/dead larvae/bait fish are prohibited. Leån Only Catch & Release and quota fishing with a maximum of 10 fishermen per day. (Fishing licenses are purchased via Ifiske). Only fly fishing with a fly rod is allowed. Only one barbed hook allowed. Fishing report requirements. Fishing season 15/5-30/9. PLEASE NOTE! Fishing with baited hooks is prohibited. Worms, maggots and all live/dead larvae/bait fish are prohibited. Put & Take rules Little and Big Black Lakes Max 3 fish per fishing license. You can redeem 2 licenses/day. Fishing season Stora Svartsjön 26/12-30/9. Fishing time Lilla Svartsjön from the ice fishing premiere until September 30th. Floating ring allowed when purchasing a floating ring card You are allowed to fish with sport fishing gear. That is, a fly rod, fishing rod, casting rod or ice rod. Fishing from land or ice may be done with one gear per fisherman. GRAB HOOKS PROHIBITED! Mashing ban Fishing with roe as bait prohibited due to risk of infection Jaw-Jackers not allowed Fishing with powerbait pellets is prohibited. Put & Take rules Carved iron Only fishing with FLY FISHING ROD. Fishing time Sarvtjärn, opens 15/5 2026 .. Max 3 fish per fishing license. You can redeem 1 license/day. Minimum size trout 35 cm. Floating not allowed. GRAB HOOKS PROHIBITED! Lake Örasjön in Finneby Net fishing and otter fishing prohibited. Max 3 trout per day. Catch window 40-60 cm. Trout protected from 1/9-31/12. As this is a sensitive water, we ask that you do not catch more fish than you need for a normal dinner. Please return the fish. All applications of catch and release should be done with caution and respect for a living creature. Wet your hands before handling the fish. Barbless fishing is preferable for catch-and-release fishing. Väljeån Nursery area. All fishing prohibited until further notice to give the brown trout population a chance. Crayfishing All crayfish fishing is prohibited until further notice due to weak stocks. Fixed and mobile gear (registered and fishing right holders only) Fixed gear is gear attached and anchored to the bottom, which remains out in the same place for more than 48 hours. Examples include eel traps, salmon traps, and gillnets. Mobile gear includes nets, gillnets and small pike traps. Fishing with fixed and mobile gear may only be conducted by registered residents and fishing right holders in Ljusdals FVO, with an annual permit. Fishing with fixed and mobile gear is not permitted at the inlets and outlets of streams, creeks, straits and rivers (200 meters). Fishing gear must be marked with name, address and telephone number. Trolling fishing To be allowed to engage in trolling fishing, the fisherman must purchase an annual license and a trolling license. Trolling fishing is considered to be conducted when more than one rod per person is used. Max one trout per boat/day. Fishing When angling, 15 don are charged per fishing license. Do not catch more fish than you need. Please note the maximum size of 80 cm for pike and the minimum size of 50 cm for pike-perch. The bait fish must not be live and must be taken from waters within the fishery conservation area. Selling fish is not allowed, fishing only for household needs. Fish movement Moving fish is not permitted by law. INSPECTION FEE We charge a control fee for incorrect fishing or incorrect handling. Fishing inspection staff issue a control fee directly on site and must be paid within 10 days. Unpaid fees will be handed over to debt collection. Level 1: 500 SEK Violation of Ljusdals FVO's rules. Ex. Number of rods/gear more than allowed. More fish than allowed, minimum size. Fishing with anything other than a fly fishing rod where other gear is prohibited. Violation of the mashing ban. Litter Level 2: 1500 SEK Violation of boating ban Netting within 200 m of the inlet and outlet Netting in all waters where FVO stocks game fish. Netting in waters where netting is prohibited. Unmarked nets Violation of rules where eco-fishing applies (Leån) Leåkortet Catch & Release only. Only fly fishing with fly fishing rod. Only a barbed hook may be used.
