Jokkmokks Jakt & Fiske Continuous supervision of fishing waters takes place. A valid fishing license must be carried and shown upon request by a licensed fishing inspector or member of Jokkmokk's Hunting & Fishing. All fish subject to catch restrictions regarding number, species, size, etc. must be unconditionally released. In running water (i.e. Pärlälven, Appokälven and Purkiforsen) there is a fishing ban from 15/9 to 15/6. Downstream of Messaure Dam – Maximum 3 salmonids per person per fishing day. Fishing is prohibited for the first 1000 m downstream of Messaure Dam. Boats with motors and floats allowed. Upstream of the Messaure dam – Trolling fishing with an unlimited number of rods allowed. Boat fishing with a motor allowed. Float fishing allowed. Currently, there is a net fishing ban in the Messaure reservoir. NOTE!!! In the part of the Messaure reservoir that is located within the Muddus National Park. (i.e. the stretch approximately from Skaite down to Bárnásgårsså and approximately 500-800 m out from land, see general maps for the exact limit) there are special fishing rules.
