Family members The cardholder's family members, i.e. husband, wife, cohabitant and children living at home up to the age of 19, are allowed to accompany and participate in the fishing with their own gear. Fishing from a boat and float ring Fishing from a boat is permitted in several of the Yellow Card fishing waters (see the description for each water). Carp For directed fishing for carp, the Yellow Card Carp Supplement is required (see page 37 of the Yellow Guide). For the supplement to be valid, a valid annual license is required. Re-release must be done as gently as possible and a dehooking mat is mandatory. When carp fishing with the Carp Supplement, three rods may be used, exclusively directed at carp fishing. Pike-perch To protect the pike-perch during the spawning period, it is protected in Rådasjön and Stensjön throughout May. Pike To protect the pike during the spawning period in Nordre Älv, it is protected from the Nordre Älv bridge to just south of munkholmen 1 February – 15 May. Trouble Is protected from all fishing in both Göta and Nordre Älv. Be careful with the fish! Minimum dimensions For pike-perch and pike the minimum size is 50 cm. For salmon and trout in watercourses, in Stora Härsjön and Sävelången the minimum size is 45 cm. For trout in other lakes the minimum size is 35 cm, and for char 40 cm. Maximum dimensions For sustainable fishing, a maximum size of 40 cm is recommended for perch, 80 cm for pikeperch and 100 cm for pike. Fish over these lengths should be released. Remember to handle the fish with care! Lärjeån In Lärjeån, all fishing is prohibited from October 1 to March 31. Clean fly fishing waters In Östra Långevattnet, Stora Björketjärnen, Lysevattnet and Bredvattnet, only fishing with traditional fly fishing equipment is permitted. The fishing rules apply in the event of legal liability. Violations will be reported to the police and an inspection fee may be charged.
