Rules & closed seasons
Salmon are subject to the strictest and most frequently changed rules of all Swedish species: permitted size ranges, catch limits, mandatory catch reporting, distinctions between stocked salmon marked by a clipped adipose fin and wild fish, and closed seasons around the upstream run. The binding values are set by Havs- och vattenmyndigheten, the Länsstyrelse and the holder of the fishing rights — check them during the season in which you travel.
