Trästatjärn is a small forest tarn situated south of Sollefteå and reached via Vallåvägen and the road towards Gravvattnet. The water mainly comes from underground springs and is of good quality. The fish stock is a self-reproducing population of Swedish Arctic char and American brook char. There is no road to the tarn and one has to walk approx. 500-600 metres before arriving. Trästatjärn has been private water for a long time. Stocking of Arctic char began nearly 100 years ago. The purpose is to maintain good fishing. The association has no profit motive and all income is spent on fishery conservation.
