Norra Värmelns FVO RULES FOR FISHING IN LAKE VÄRMELN The following rules for fishing have been established at the fishing meetings on April 23, 2026 for the Southern Värmeln FVOF and on April 22 for the Northern Värmeln FVOF. The rules also apply to fishing in Rommen, Ingersbytjärnet, Yppersbytjärnet. A loose fishing license does not entitle you to fishing in flowing waters such as Brunsbergsälven, Finntjärnsbäcken, Vrångbäcken and Slorudsälven. However, slom fishing in Brunsbergsälven is free. GENERAL RULES Established minimum dimensions and restrictions: Trout and Salmon 60 cm – fishing ban annually from 1/9 to 31/12. Max 2 fish per fishing opportunity. Pike perch 45 – 75 cm, so-called window extraction. Fishing ban annually 1/5 to 15/6. Max 2 fish per fishing opportunity. Pike over 90 cm should be released. Smaller fish and fish of Trout, Salmon or Pikeperch caught during the ban period must be returned, regardless of size, alive or dead. When trolling/equivalent, the maximum number of rods/equivalent behind the boat is 2, regardless of the number of active fishermen in the boat. NOTE! Inspection fee of SEK 1,500 from May 1, 2025 for anyone who violates the rules RULES FOR TROLLING CARDS see separate chapter! MEMBERS' OWN FISHING (Property with fishing rights) Fishing license: To practice fishing, a member (fishing license owner) must purchase a fishing license from iFiske.se, stating their name and property name. For an issued fishing license, fishing may be conducted, in addition to the member, also by the member's spouse or equivalent, as well as children registered in the parental home. The fishing license, which is valid for 1 year (1/5-30/4), must be purchased for 50 SEK and entitles the member to fish: within your own home area with all legal equipment, however limited to a maximum of five nets (max. 150 m), rigged and marked at both ends and five Russians. Within the entire fishery conservation area with hand tools and fishing tackle/ice fishing rods without restriction. To practice fishing, members must purchase a fishing license worth 50 kronor (valid from 1 May to 30 April of the following year). Fishing license can be supplemented with a so-called guest card worth 50 kronor. A guest card only entitles to hand-held fishing and is valid for one guest fisherman per fishing occasion. Note! that the fishing license holder must accompany the guest when fishing. FISHING PERMIT Locality card (homestead card): A person who is registered in a homestead within the fisheries management area and such a co-owner in the fishery (co-owner in a jointly owned or deceased estate, etc.) who does not own a separate fishing right certificate is entitled to a separate Locality card. The locality card is valid for 1 year (1/5 – 30/4) and costs SEK 200 and entitles the holder to the same fishing as the fishing right certificate. The locality card is personal and cannot be transferred but includes the spouse and children registered in the parental home or equivalent. Property card : Owners of tied fishing have the right to redeem property cards for further transfer to any named person. The price of a property card, which is valid for 1 year (1/5-31/4), is 50 SEK. The property card entitles the holder to fishing only within the transferring fishing rights owner's property and according to the same rules that apply to fishing rights certificates within the property. Fishing license : The general public can purchase a fishing license, which entitles the holder to fish with hand gear (fishing rod, casting rod, fly rod and ice rod, as well as angelfish or ice fishing, maximum 3 rods/gear. The fishing license is personal and cannot be transferred. The fishing license is valid throughout Lake Värmeln. A valid fishing license/fishing card or receipt from payment via bank/internet banking must be carried when fishing and shown to a fishing inspector, fishing license holder or fellow anglers upon request. The associations have specially appointed fishing inspectors (with the authority of a police officer) with the task of ensuring that applicable fishing regulations are followed. Trolling card in Värmeln Rules and prices The trolling card gives the holder the right to drive with a maximum of 6 rods and also the right to engage in vertical fishing. The trolling card also includes other benefits that apply when purchasing a regular fishing card. NOTE: Commercial guiding with business activities during trolling fishing is prohibited. The associations' revenues for Trolling Cards are earmarked and go entirely to stocking fish or to fishing improvement measures. In addition, a valid fishing license for the day, week, or year is required for other active fishermen on the boat. Children/youth -18 years fish for free. The trolling card is valid throughout Lake Värmeln. NOTE! A control fee of SEK 1,500 will be introduced from May 1, 2025 for anyone who violates the rules. (Rommen, Ingersbytjärn, Yppersbytjärn are not included in the trolling card) A single boat with a maximum of 2 rods does not count as trolling. Minimum dimensions and restrictions: Pike +90 cm should be reinstated Trout and Salmon 60 cm – fishing ban annually between September 1st – December 31st Zander Window withdrawal 45-75 cm. Fishing ban annually between May 1 and June 15. Max 2 fish per occasion/day. Smaller fish and fish of Trout, Salmon and Pikeperch caught during the ban period, regardless of size, must be returned to the lake whether they are alive or dead. Remember!
