Sandsjöns (Härryda)

Sandsjöns FVOF (Härryd) A fishing license must be carried with you when fishing for any purpose that requires it. Only one hand tool per person may be used; however, two hand tools are permitted per person in a fishing boat. Hand tools include fishing rods, casting rods and trolling rods, in all cases equipped with a bait (see 3. below!) or similar on the line. No other moving or fixed tools may be used. Examples of prohibited tools are gillnets, gill nets, nets and fishing tackle with more than one bait on the line. However, a maximum of eight fishing tackles with hooks and/or baits may be used per person 16 years of age and older when winter fishing through the ice. Bait fish may not be brought from any other lake. Live bait fish are prohibited. The fisherman must not leave fishing gear in the lake without supervision. In practice, this means that the fisherman or fishermen must be visible from the place where the fishing gear has been left in the lake; otherwise, illegal fishing is taking place and the gear may be confiscated. Perch over 38 cm and Pike over 85 cm must be released to promote continued good fishing. Captured fish must be handled and killed immediately. Only undamaged fish may be released. The use of a chest or similar for storing fish is not permitted. Fishing is allowed throughout Sandsjön except during the period March-April when all fishing is prohibited in the outlet bay located in the northwestern part of the lake. Fishing or other measures aimed at changing the conditions for fishing may not take place in Boltjärn, Stora and Lilla Tingtjärn, Lammatjärn and their and Sandsjön's outlet streams. Fishing for sale is not permitted and should in principle be intended for consumption by the individual household. For fishing competitions, agreements are made with the board in each individual case. When fishing, the right of public access must be observed, i.e. the fisherman must not be so close to residential buildings that residents may feel disturbed. Private land must not be entered. Fishing where others are swimming is prohibited. Driving on private roads is prohibited. Please note that Sandsjön and its tributaries have been a WATER PROTECTION AREA since January 2010. A total ban on the lake for all types of vessels and vehicles with internal combustion engines applies.
