Special fishing license (day license) applies to Gothemsån Åminne during the period 1/9 - 31/1 READ THE FISHING RULES CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START FISHING.* Once the fishing license is paid for and ready, it must be on hand throughout the fishing trip and can be presented together with a valid ID document upon request by a supervisor. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred. Both the annual pass and the weekly pass are family passes and are valid for the cardholder with their spouse/cohabitant and accompanying children/youth up to and including the year the child/youth turns 18 and is in the cardholder's company. Contents of bags, pouches and backpacks must be presented upon request. Violations of fishing license rules may result in confiscated equipment and fines. The junior fishing license is free, but the order is processed in the same way as a regular fishing license. The junior fishing license is valid until the year you turn 18. Methods Rod fishing only. Fishing with a maximum of three (3) rods at a time is permitted. When fishing with more than one rod at a time, all rods must be able to be kept under supervision. Fishing with nets, traps, gillnets or other mass-catching gear, as well as jerk fishing, is prohibited. A maximum of 2 hooks may be used on the same rod (a 3-hook counts as 1 hook). Catch restrictions All pike and trout must be released, year-round. Any caught pike or trout must be handled as carefully as possible, preferably without lifting them out of the water, and released immediately. Read more about information about catch & release below. Intentional fishing for trout in the rivers is prohibited, year-round. From 1/3-31/5, all perch must also be released back. At other times, a maximum catch of 3 perch under 30 cm per fisherman per day applies. All perch that are 30 cm or longer must be released. It is allowed to keep a maximum of 3 IDs per fisherman per day. Other rules The fish you are going to take home must be killed immediately. Fish to be released must be handled carefully and not longer than necessary. Storage of live fish in, for example, a net, keepnet, sump or similar may only take place while scales, tape measures, cameras, etc. are being prepared, which must take place directly after the catch. After any weighing/measuring/photographing, the fish must be released back immediately (read more about catch & release further down). Show respect for animals and nature and leave the fishing spot in a clean condition. Used fishing gear and other trash that ends up on the ground must be picked up. Keep it clean and tidy and you will contribute to everyone having a pleasant experience! Information about catch & release If you catch a fish and intend to release it, consider the following: - use a net (preferably knotless with rubber netting) and always avoid letting the fish lie on the ground. Wet rubber mats or so-called landing mats can be used to advantage when unhooking - handle the fish with wet hands - always minimize the exposure time of the fish above the surface (let the fish rest in the net in the water while you prepare the unhooking, camera, scales, etc.) - if the fish is to be weighed, use a wet bag, such as a weighing bag or plastic bag. - small treble hooks and single hooks are gentler on the fish and increase the survival of fish that are released. By following these simple steps, the fish have a better chance of recovering and surviving after release. *Angling involves adaptive management of the water and strives for long-term sustainability for both the fish and the fishery.
