Sävsjö SFK Käringasjön, Vrigstad

NOTE do not confuse this area with Käringasjön in Vaggeryd! The permit is valid only in Vrigstad and only in Käringasjön - not in other lakes."Our club lake" Käringasjön is a lake previously treated with rotenone which now also, in addition to the regularly stocked trout relatives, Heligeå trout and rainbow trout, contains perch. The largest recorded is now close to 1,7kg.The area is characterised by the exciting rock formations at the southern end which, after the ice age, still attract some climbers who enjoy moderate challenges. At the southern point there is a larger model wind shelter and a cement-ringed barbecue site with a movable grill installation. The footpath around the lake mostly does not require boots, except when it rains when this footwear is most suitable. Waders are not needed as the lake bottom is not at all suitable for wading or otherwise moving on. To get out over the water there are jetties which are entered at your own risk.The northern end of the lake has a very small wind shelter, only for a couple of people. There is also a cement-ringed barbecue site with a corresponding grill grate as at the southern end. Note that it is everyone's responsibility to observe any local fire bans. Barbecuing bans may also occur. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to provide firewood.The lake is surrounded by forest and the western side has a distinct rock cliff opposite a projecting pine-forest shore on the eastern side.The lake is of a suitable size to be circled without too much effort at some point during fishing.Please note that littering is not permitted.By the lake there are two rubbish bins, one at each end of the lake, south and north.There are also wind shelters and approx. 10 jetties around the lake. In the area there is one or more "put-and-take" waters with stocked salmonid fish. In the area there is one or more waters for catch-and-release, i.e. fish are carefully released after capture. Sävsjö SFK is affiliated with Sportfiskarna. Our idea is to contribute to the development of angling as a sport and recreational activity and to promote angling and fisheries management. In the interests of the members, we want to work for appropriate organisation of fishing and enable use and enjoyment at our water, thereby also working for good fellowship between the club's members and others for good enjoyment at the water. We want to help increase personal knowledge of the possibilities and requirements of fisheries management and, through youth activities and in cooperation with Sportfiskarna, stimulate interest in angling and nature among young people and thereby give them greater benefit from their leisure time, thus also working for increased fishing and nature awareness and respect for others' right to recreation.
