Scenically situated just south-east of Sävsjö, Eksjöhovgårdssjön is a pleasant lake of approximately 60ha. Perch fishing and pike fishing can at times be very good. Perch over one kilogram occasionally occur in catches. The setting around the lake is magnificent, with the Eksjöhovgård castle ruin recalling times gone by. The estate was built on the island in the north as early as the 1400s and was owned by the Sture family between the 1400s and 1600s. A two-metre-wide footpath runs beautifully around the entire lake. Within the area there is one or more accessibility-adapted fishing waters. For more information, see the fishing area's map where these points are marked, or contact Sävsjöortens FVOF. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 14. Only handheld tackle. Our organisation is a land-sharing association and makes fishing in Eksjöhovgårdssjön available.
