Emsfors SFK Generally One fishing license/day/rod and may be used for a maximum of 3 consecutive days. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred or sold. ESFK's fishing route applies to both sides of the Emån River. It starts above Hälleforshult (upstream of Karlshammar) and ends downstream of the road bridge after the large hedge at the Emsfors community. The route is not marked or signposted, so please get the 5G Oskarshamn NO Field Map or see the map here. It can also be ordered through Lantmäteriet. Each individual card buyer must find out about ESFK's limits towards other water owners as well as current exclusion zones at the power plants. ESFK disclaims any responsibility in this regard. Methods Only hand-held fishing is permitted. For all fishing, a maximum of one treble hook and no barbs are allowed. We strictly apply catch & release and the fish are handled carefully. The fish must be kept in the water during unhooking. If you are unable to stand in the water, a knotless net should be used to keep the fish in the water when unhooking. All wild sea trout/salmon must always be released into Emån, with the exception of fin-clipped/farmed fish. These fish must NOT be released, but must be picked up. The use of grappling hooks is prohibited. When fishing for sea trout or salmon, it is prohibited to use natural bait such as shrimp or worms. Bait fish may be used when fishing for pike. When fishing for other species, such as carp, bait made of bread or grain may be used. Bottom fishing and float fishing for whitefish is permitted but must not hinder other anglers. Anglers are expected to give priority to fly and spin fishermen during the period 9/3 - 22/9. Every sea trout and salmon must be reported, including information on species, length, date and place of capture. Catch restrictions 2 fish Salmon/Sea Trout over minimum size (50cm) may be landed per fisherman per day. After the quota is reached, fishing must cease! On the Emsfors stretch, only catch & release applies. All catching of catfish and eels is prohibited. If catfish or eels are caught by mistake, they must be released back into Emån. Other rules Do not enter private or industrial property when fishing. For everyone's safety, do not start fishing in front of another fisherman in the same pool. Instead, start upstream and engage in mobile fishing. A gentlemen's agreement prevails, which is why it is important to ask first when in doubt. The salmon parasite Gyrodactylus Salaris occurs in the Emån River, where sea trout and salmon are resistant. Those who will later fish in rivers that are free of the parasite are therefore asked to carefully disinfect their gear after fishing.
