We naturally hope that in the future we will also be able to offer permits in Åreda-Vikasjöns FVOF. ... The lakes of the fisheries management area are located approx. 15 km from Växjö: Åredasjön, Vikasjön, Stora Hacksjön and Skirsjön. Sizes 60-130ha, typical water quality for forest lakes in the area, with humus-rich waters. Depth usually under 3 m, isolated deep holes 6-8 m. The lakes' surroundings and shores are, to the greatest extent, unaffected by construction or agriculture. No discharges from communities or industries occur. The shores vary between low-lying, difficult-to-access, and sloping mountain and forest areas. To a great extent soft bottoms, but stony areas and hard bottoms are also present. Fish presence is of the common inland species. In the 1950s tench and eel were introduced, at least in Vikasjön; isolated specimens still remain. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Only when accompanied by a guardian/adult/person who has a valid permit (on that person's quota) Åreda/Vikasjöns fvo exists to facilitate members' cooperation in water and fisheries management issues. The cooperation also provides opportunities to offer permit fishing to interested persons. Such organised activities began as early as the 1940s.
