Rössjöholms Estate provides a boat launching ramp in Västersjön.When moving boats between different waters, certain special rules apply to prevent the spread of invasive species. It is for loading and unloading and for attaching any motor, and may be used by everyone who has paid the annual fee for either a boat berth or an annual permit for the barrier.The fee for access to the boat ramp applies during the period 1 May 2025-30 April 2026. Everyone who has paid will be given the code for the barrier, which is changed in May each year. If we choose to change the code again at any time during the season, we will notify you by email. The code must be regarded as personal and must not be given to anyone else. Remember to close and lock the barrier after each launching/removal from the water.It is prohibited to operate a motor-powered craft at a speed greater than 7 knots. However, this prohibition does not apply between 12.00 and 17.00 within a particular water area. Sometimes the car park is quite cramped; then try to place your boat trailer on the opposite side of the road on the slope. The estate, with all its crofts and the workforce that existed, constituted its own small community system from the beginning of the 1600s. But the history of the estate goes much further back than that. Rössjöholm manor house as we see it today was built in 1735, but already at the end of the 1300s there was a castle, probably situated out on a headland in Kyrksjön.For more information, read our website.
