Almaån - Fiskeplan för Almaåns övre FVO Fishing plan for Almaån's upper fishing management area Purpose: The purpose of this plan is to plan and set rules for fishing in Almaån's upper fisheries management area. Extent: The plan covers all fishing within Almaån's upper fisheries management area and applies from the fishing meeting in 2003 until a change is made. This can only be done at the fishing meeting. Minimum dimensions: Pike: 40 cm Salmon: 50 cm Trout: 50 cm Signal crayfish: 11 cm (body length) Peace hours: Trout and salmon may be fished from 1 March to 30 September. Signal crayfish may be fished from the 2nd Friday in August at 17.00 and 5 days ahead. All fish and crayfish below the minimum size or that are caught at a prohibited time must, without exception, be released back into the river immediately. All fishing for eels is prohibited by law after 2007-05-01. Mink control: Today, the mink is a problem for wildlife in and around Almaån. The association and its members should work for a decimation of the mink population. The association owns 3 mink traps for lending, when catching mink, the holder of hunting rights must give his permission if someone other than him conducts mink hunting. Protection of the area's natural values: The association must work to preserve the natural values found in and around Almaån and take the necessary measures to protect them. Fishing rights owners' fishing: Members (owners of fishing rights) may fish within their own village's waters and with hand gear in the entire fisheries management area. Members' guests may fish in the company of a member without a fishing license. A fishing license must be carried when fishing by a member. The board sells fishing rights certificates for SEK 100/each and they are valid for 5 years. Crayfish fishing plans must be drawn up for villages with collective fishing to facilitate the distribution of the fishing and to avoid differences of opinion about how the fishing should be conducted. The plan must be determined by the fishing meeting. Release: The license within the area refers to fishing with hand gear. Fishing licenses are sold in the form of daily, weekly and annual licenses. The prices are SEK 25, 75 and 200. Children under 18 fish for free. Members may not allow fishing to outsiders.
