Östervallskogs FVO is characterised by a beautiful forest landscape with numerous waters of different sizes. The largest lakes, Östen and Strömmersjön, form the final part of Dalslands Kanal, which extends all the way from Vänern. Fishing pressure in the area is very low and you can find your favourite spots where you can be alone without any problem. The largest lakes are so-called fracture lakes, i.e. rather narrow and deep lakes with relatively clear, nutrient-poor water. Such waters often hold populations of large, pelagic predatory fish, and our lakes are no exception. We also have numerous smaller forest lakes, all holding fine populations of pike and perch, and some also hold natural trout populations. In addition, you will also find put-and-take in the area, of which Hulttjärn is the most popular. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Östervallskogs FVO was formed in 1989 to promote and develop fishing and fisheries management. The fisheries management area consists of about 500 fishing-right owners distributed across 12-13 holdings. The fisheries management area association is active in fisheries management work through various environmentally beneficial fisheries management measures to create good conditions for long-term sustainable fish populations, of interest both for tourist fishing and subsistence fishing.
