Rickleå Nedre

We naturally hope that in future we will also be able to offer fishing permits in Rickleå Bys Samfällighetsförening ... Rickleån is a very beautiful river with a unique character. Rickleån has a so-called Seapool, a rapid that flows straight into the sea. In Sweden there are only two larger watercourses of this character, the other being Emån. Rickleån is also unique because its lowest sections, downstream of Robertsfors, have never been cleared for timber floating and retain their original character with large boulders and varying current sections. Rickleån is primarily known for its spring and autumn fishing for large sea trout, but grayling fishing can sometimes be really good and the salmon stock is now increasing. Rickleå By (SFF) manages the lower part of Rickleån and has managed salmon fishing in the river since 1583 (although the association was formed in 1982). Rickleå supplied salmon to Uppsala diocese as early as the 1300s and has been a renowned fishing river throughout history. Nowadays Rickelån is best known for fishing for large sea trout, which are easiest to reach in spring and autumn. The section included in the area has not been cleared for timber floating, which is unique for larger rivers in Norrland’s coastal country. We work actively to improve conditions for salmon and sea trout through supervision both on the coast and on land, making fishing accessible by keeping paths open and maintaining the rest huts along the river. We cooperate with other organisations to achieve the removal of three dams in Robertsfors urban area in future, which prevents the river from reaching its full potential.
