Örlen

Örlen is a lake of 1500 ha located in Tibro municipality between Vänern and Vättern in the former county of Skaraborg. The lake has a depth of 28 m. The lake has clean and good water. There are two smaller catchment areas, Ulvån from Ulvsjön and Svartsjöbäcken from Svartsjön and Brännhultasjön. Lake Örlen drains via the 7 km-long river Örlan to Lake Viken. In recent years, zander have been stocked. Suitable fishing is from a boat; launching sites are available. Launching sites are in Bråbacka and at the new Örlenbadet by the campsite. Sport fishing with handheld tackle, surface trolling and set lines/ ice fishing is permitted. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15 years. Children/young people must be able to fish independently (cast/reel/fish themselves) Only with handheld tackle and surface trolling. Fishing in Lake Örlen has been managed by Örlens fisheries management association since 1943, which was later reconstituted as Örlens Fisheries Management Area Association. The association's purpose is to coordinate the conduct of fishing and fisheries management, promote the shared interests of fishing-right holders and make fishing rights available to the public.
