Säven m fl vatten

Säven is the largest lake within the fisheries conservation area. An area of 1226 ha and estimated maximum depth of 34 metres. Other included lakes: Baståsasjön, Dövedalssjön, Lillesjö, Malsjön, Rönåsasjöarna, Sandsjön, Lilla and Stora Tränningen, Lövåsasjön, Vänga damm, Gräddån, Kvarnabäcken, Myresjöån, Rönåsaån, Torvån, Säveån downstream of Vänga damm. Björsjö and Hindsjö are two small lakes that are included, but fishing there is prohibited during the birds' breeding period. Most of the lakes are shallow, only a few metres deep, which attracts ice fishing. Säven is by far our foremost water, due to its size, variation in depth and being the only lake in our FVO that contains zander. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. The association was formed in 1935. The purpose was to ensure a good supply of food fish. It also sells fishing permits and strengthens the supply of food fish through stocking. The first stocking took place in 1939, 500 pike fry. The first time zander was stocked was in 1975.
