- In Vadeån, all fishing is prohibited in the zones approximately 100 meters upstream and downstream of the dam in Vade.

Bergsjö FVO NOTE! 22/7 - All waters are now open again! Temperatures have dropped. NEW RULES FROM 1/5 2025 with updates in spring 2026. Read carefully so you don't miss anything. Look at the map for more detailed info. If you are unsure - ask the contact persons! To everyone who fishes! You who fish are required to know the regulations in the area. If you are unsure of the rules that apply, contact the FVO before you start fishing. Everyone who fish is required to have a valid fishing license, and to show the fishing license upon request by a fishing inspector. Anyone who violates the FVO's rules will have to pay a control fee of SEK 500, for example when fishing with unauthorized gear or unauthorized fishing methods. Young people fish for free up to and including the year they turn 16. For fishing within Bergsjö FVO, only hand gear, one per person and card, is normally allowed. Put & Take in Hannåstjärn and Orrantjärn : Max 2 fish/card, max 2 cards/day. Only one hand tool per person. However, young people up to and including 15 years of age may fish with their own rod together with an adult on their card. Young people up to and including 15 years of age who fish without an adult can purchase a youth card at a reduced price (max ONE fish per card). Echo sounders may not be used. Prohibition on mashing. Caught pike must be picked up and killed. From 2026, card sales only via ifiske.se. A general net ban applies throughout Nordanstig . All fishing with pike scissors and stand hooks is also prohibited. This also includes bass, roach and other so-called fixed gear. Roach huts are allowed (fishing license required) but must be marked with name and telephone number. All fishing in flowing water is prohibited from 1/9 to 31/12 . In the Vadeån, directed fly fishing for grayling can be conducted even after 1/9, but a special permit is required after contacting the FVO's contact persons. All fishing with baited hooks , such as worms, shrimp, squid, maggots, corn and all kinds of power baits, is prohibited in Rexforsån, Älgeredsån, Vadeån (upstream of the power line in Pipsveden) and Bergeströmmen. In Vadeån - from the power line in Pipsveden down to the spillway dam at Bergebron - fishing with baited hooks is permitted. In Älgeredsån, 100% C&R applies to trout and grayling, and all caught fish of these species must be released in a responsible manner. Only fishing with barbless single hooks is permitted. Hooks with a pressed or ground-away barb are also considered “barbless”. Other fish species may be caught and kept if the rules for size requirements and catch quotas for the species are followed. In Flarktjärnen, exceptions apply to the rules regarding barbless hooks. Angling is also permitted there in winter. NOTE! A special fishing license is required in Älgeredsån. In Rexforsån, Vadeån and Bergeströmmen, window catches and maximum quotas apply to trout and grayling . One fish of 35-40 cm of these species may be kept per day and card. All other grayling and trout must be released in a responsible manner. Other fish species may be caught and kept if the rules for size requirements and catch quotas for the species are followed . In Vadeån, all fishing is prohibited in the zones approximately 100 meters upstream and downstream of the dam in Vade. The ban also applies to the fish migration route. See the map for the exact prohibition zone. The Rexforsån covers the stretch downstream of Hasselasjön to Längsterbosjön. The Älgeredsån covers the stretch downstream of Längsterbosjön to Älgeredssjön. The Vadeån covers the stretch from the spillway dam downstream of Långnäset at the outlet of Älgeredssjön to the power line at Pipsveden. Bergeströmmen refers to the streams above and below the Bergebron in Bergsjö - the border down towards Kyrksjön runs at the same height as Jannes Bilverkstad and is marked on the map. All other borders are also marked on the map. Brook trout fishing : Angling for brook trout (and brook char) is permitted in the smaller streams and rivers of the fishing area. There is no minimum size, but three trout per day may be kept even if they are smaller than 35 cm. Trout larger than 40 cm must, however, be released. Any brook trout may be caught and kept without any regulations. Trolling : For trolling with 3 to a maximum of 8 rods, a special additional card is required on the day or annual card. One trolling card per boat is required, but all people on the boat must have a regular fishing license. Live-sending / live scope : All fishing with live-sending / live scope is prohibited in Kyrksjön, Älgeredssjön, Kittesjön and Längsterbosjön. The ban means that the equipment may not be mounted on the boat. Angling and ice fishing : Max 15 fishing rods/anglers per loose fishing license. Fishing must be active and supervised. Rules for size requirements and catch quotas must be followed. Size requirements and catch quotas : Trout and grayling: Window withdrawal 35-40 cm. One fish per day may be kept. NOTE! In Älgeredsån 100% C&R applies. Pikeperch: Window outlet 45-60 cm. One fish per day may be kept. Pike: All fish over 90 cm must be released. Perch: All fish over 40 cm should be released. Closed periods for spawning: During this time, no directed fishing for the species should be conducted and all catches of the species must be released. Trout: 1/9 - 31/12 Grayling: 15/4 - 31/5 Zander: 1/5 - 31/5 Crayfish fishing : All crayfish fishing is prohibited in all waters within Bergsjö FVO. In the event of high water temperatures, the board has the right to restrict or stop fishing for a limited time.
