Högvadsån is located in Falkenberg municipality in Halland. It flows into Ätran at Ätrafors and is Ätran's largest tributary. Ätran and Högvadsån have an original salmon stock and together are the most important reproduction area for salmon on the west coast. The most important spawning beds are in Högvadsån. It is not only salmon that thrive in the river. Trout, pike, perch and several other species are also found. Högvadsån is therefore a good choice if you want variety in fishing. But salmon fishing is nevertheless the most important, and has always been so in the river. If you do not get a bite, you still get a wonderful nature experience by the water in the beautiful valleys. Högvadsån also has very fine plant and animal life along the river and several threatened biotopes and species. The fisheries management area is very weather-dependent and the water level can become very shallow, when fishing is not suitable as otherwise. Contact us if you have questions about this. Within the area there is one or more waters for catch-and-release, i.e. fish are carefully released after capture. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 17. Only when accompanied by a guardian/adult/person who has a valid permit (on that person's quota)
