Tjärnesjön is one of Halland's largest lakes located entirely within the county's boundaries. The lake contains plenty of perch, roach and pike, as well as bream, vendace and vendace fry. The lake is largely surrounded by forest, with only a few areas of development near the shore. It has very varied depths and several islands. The area around the lake has abundant birdlife, including black-throated divers and breeding ospreys. The fisheries conservation area association hires out boats on the lake; see more information at tjarnesjon.se. There are several cottages for hire around the lake. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 14. Fishing permits and boat booking Tjärnesjön's fisheries conservation area association consists of all fishing-rights owners in Tjärnesjön. It originates from Kärnesjön's fisheries conservation association, which was formed in 1933. The association sells permits, hires out boats and carries out fisheries conservation in the lake.
