Herrestadssjön and Nästasjön, Värnamo Municipality, form part of the Lagan water system, Storåns catchment area. Nästasjön is situated 1 km north of Kärda and Herrestadssjön lies 2 km to the west. Nästasjön has an area of 134 ha, a maximum depth of 11.6 m and an average depth of 4 m. Herrestadssjön has an area of 370 ha and a maximum depth of 4 m. The lakes are surrounded by open cultivated landscape, but areas of coniferous forest also occur. Your own boat may be launched in Nästasjön at the Nästabadet bathing place. A boat may also be hired from the fisheries management area, 100 kr per day. There is one boat in Nästasjön and one in Herrestadssjön. During the 1990s, zander was stocked in both Nästasjön and Herrestadssjön. Reproduction has been very successful in Nästasjön and the lake has a good zander population. The lakes offer exciting rod fishing for pike, zander and perch. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Carry out fisheries management and promote interest in fishing in our lakes.
