Skärsboda fisheries conservation area permits fishing in Skärvingen - a small, barren clear-water lake with a maximum depth just over 20 metres, located north-east of Lake Nömmen. The shores are dominated by cliffs and stones; in principle there are no reeds or water lilies. A stunted perch population dominates the lake. For those who give Skärvingen a chance and spend some time on the lake, there is clearly an opportunity to catch larger specimens, as perch over 1,5 kilos have occurred among catches in the lake. Fish of that size are, however, few and difficult to catch. The pike population is not particularly numerous, but the fish have a fine average size of around 2 kilos. Other species in the lake are roach and vendace, but burbot and tench also occur sparsely. When fishing in the lake, it is not unusual to see birds such as black-throated diver, goosander and, if you are lucky, an osprey. Skärvingen has two islands and relatively much of the lake's shoreline is built up with summer cottages. Spinning and bait fishing are the dominant methods among the angling fishers who come to the lake.
