Fishing in parts of Skärveteån and Narrveten is included in Narrveteåns Fish-Conservation Area (see map). Fishing in Skärveteån is fairly inaccessible on several stretches but offers greater challenges as a result. In the upper part of the river there is a small road on the southern side that can be followed, allowing you to fish from the riverbank. Here you can try spinning with small spinners or angling with a float. For those who like fly fishing, there is an opportunity on some sections to cast a fly into the current. You need to move stealthily along the river so as not to scare the shy trout. Trout are found in the river and often hold behind stones or in deeper pools where the river bends. Trout seek shade and prefer to hold where branches overhang the river. As a precaution, you should not disturb the trout during its spawning period, which begins in September, so preferably fish in the river earlier in the year. Trout stocks are sensitive in small rivers; preferably fish according to the "catch and release" philosophy. On the lower stretch of the river, from the bridge between Slagdala and Kråketorp, you can walk along the river and fish for pike with both spinning and angling. Carp are also present and can be fished for with a rod suitable for angling. In Narrveten, fishing may be carried out under the fishing permit in the part of the lake located between the river's inlet and outlet (see map). Here you can fish for pike and perch with both spinning and angling; large pike are present in the lake. Spinners and jigs work well for perch. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 9.
