We naturally hope that in the future we will also be able to offer fishing permits in Välens FVOF. Would you like to help us ... VÄLENS FVO Välen is a clear-water lake with an area of 266 hectares and a maximum depth of 18 metres; the average depth is 4 metres. The lake also has several islands and bays. The lake, situated just north-west of Fagerhult, has a strong pike stock, with fish weighing 3-5 kg being common. Välen also has potential for larger fish; specimens of up to 15 kg have been caught. But as usual, contacting the larger fish requires patience, knowledge and a good portion of luck. Larger zander were last introduced in April 2025 from Bolmen, but they have also been introduced on 4 previous occasions. Perch have also developed very positively in recent years and several larger ones are often caught. The lakebed consists alternately of blue clay, soft bottoms and stone. Aquatic vegetation is sparse in most of the lake, except in the shallow bays in the northern parts, where aquatic vegetation spreads more extensively. The lake shores are predominantly firm, with boulders and rock outcrops, especially along the eastern side. Välen's surroundings consist mainly of coniferous forest, but grazing land and deciduous forest are also common. The opportunities for fishing from land are generally good, especially along the eastern side of the lake. In addition to Välen, there are 2 smaller waters with associated fishing called Vrången and Skälsbäcks gölen. A wind shelter with fireplace is available for use on Tallön. Note! Take waste home! Young people up to 15 fish free. Fishing permit: Sold only via I Fiske. Boats are hired from Välenbadets Camping in Fagerhult during opening hours. Can be hired by the hour, full day or half-day. A boat ramp for launching boats is available at Välenbadets Camping—drive directly to the right at the campsite car park and it is 70-80 metres away. Car/boat trailer may be left next to it. Take care when launching, as there are shallow stones at the ramp/bay. HIRE BOATS: 2 boats are available for hire at Välenbadets camping by the hour or for a full day. The boats are booked at reception at Välenbadets camping. Only in the company of a parent/guardian/adult/person who has a valid fishing permit (on that person's quota) Keeps fishing together in Lake Välen, Vrången and Skälsbäckgölen. The money received is used to try to find beneficial measures for fishing in the lakes. 36 landowners jointly have a fishing organisation called Välens FVO, with a board of 5 people, whose chair is Thomas Jerneng tel 070-3338045.
