Tannsjön and Hultasjön together form the Tannsjö-Hultasjön fisheries conservation area. In the leafy inland parts of Markaryd Municipality, the forest opens up to fields, pastures and water. Most people here are smallholders with cattle or horse farms, and the area is quiet and peaceful. The two lakes Tannsjön and Hultasjön lie with still water, small islands and good fishing opportunities from the lake shores or from rowing boats that the association hires out to visitors at favourable rates. In the lakes you can fish for pike, perch, roach and tench. The lakes collect water from the northern and north-eastern parts of the municipality, among other places through Hökabäcken, which flows into the northernmost part of Tannsjön. The two lakes meet in the middle in a shallow passage and continue together into Lillån in the south-western part of Hultasjön. Lillån's water passes several other small lakes and watercourses before later reaching Lagan on its way towards Halland, the west coast and the sea. We assume that those who are given the opportunity to fish in our fine lakes will make sure to take their fishing tackle, rubbish and any other belongings home again after finishing fishing. Together we can ensure that the lakes and their surroundings can continue to bring joy and fishing opportunities to local residents and visitors alike. For children under 15, free fishing applies provided that the applicable rules for the fishing waters are followed. The Tannsjö-Hultasjön fisheries conservation area is in the middle of Markaryd Municipality. The association is friendly and welcoming and has a long history. Everyone is welcome to fish here with a fishing permit.
