Matkakoski Fiskeförening Fishing rules - Matkakoski Fishing Association Rev. 2026-05-13 Fishermen are required to inform themselves about the applicable rules before starting fishing. Fishing license For sport fishing in Matkakoski, a fishing license is required, which can be obtained through ifiske.se, https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-matkakoski-fiske.htm Fishing licenses are valid from 18:00 to 18:00 the following day, except Sunday 18:00 to Monday 18:00 when fishing is prohibited. To ensure a good and sustainable fishing experience, we have quotas for the number of fishing licenses. The maximum number of licenses per day is shown in the number of licenses per day on ifiske.se. Max 1 salmon per 24-hour pass. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred. Card prices 24-hour pass: 450 SEK (including mandatory service fee of 250/day) Young people 15-18 years old fish for 50% of the fee. Children under 15 years of age fish free of charge, but may only fish with a guardian or other adult who has purchased a fishing license (1 adult per fishing child). Service fee Fishing permits are purchased through https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-matkakoski-fiske.htm including a mandatory service fee. The fee covers access to parking, the fishing area and its service facilities available at any time. Catch quantity Fishermen are allowed to keep two (2) salmon per season. Please note that between August 16-25 it is prohibited to catch and keep fish exceeding 65 cm. Catch & Release is not allowed. If you catch a salmon, you pick up the fish. Mishooked fish must always be released. Fishing method Only one rod per person, with one bait/draw per rod. Only hand tools with a single hook, maximum size 12 mm, are permitted. So-called spinning fly is allowed. For the sake of the environment, we would like everyone to use lead-free pulls and sinkers. Unauthorized fishing methods Jerk fishing is prohibited under Swedish law. Caught fish must be kept, so-called Catch & Release is not allowed. Mishooked fish, hooked in places other than the mouth and throat, must be unhooked with the greatest care and immediately released. The fish must not be taken out of the water during this operation. Well-being rules As anglers, we show consideration for other anglers, the environment we live in, nature and wildlife. Think about the damage a discarded line or hook can cause in nature. Waste, food, paper etc. are thrown in the trash. Marking fishing spots with a rod, backpack, etc. and then walking away is not permitted. Supervision Fishermen must be able to show a fishing license, receipt for paid service fee, and identification when requested by a supervisor. Fishermen who violate applicable regulations and fishing rules or who behave in a disruptive manner towards other fishermen or non-fishermen will be banned from continuing to fish in Matkakoski.
