The Muonio River consists of both streams, rapids and calm water and is one of Europe's best salmon waters with large salmon. Also a very good grayling water. Along the river there are a number of barbecue/rest areas. Aareajärvet consists of three lakes with pike, perch and roach. At the largest lake there is also a sauna for hire. Aareajoki is a river with very little fishing pressure. The fish are grayling, perch, pike and also trout. The fishing area is accessibility-adapted. For more information, see the fishing area's map where points are marked, or contact Aareavaara FVOF. Fishing is free for children and young people up to and including the age of 16. Aareavaara FVOF manages the fishing and fishing waters on behalf of Aareavaara Byasamfällighet. The association was formed in 1984. The purpose is to offer the public good fishing and enjoyable leisure time.
