Description from the source
Show the full source description

Skräbeån is a small, beautiful river that flows through Bromölla kommun in north-eastern Skåne. It stretches between the magnificent Ivösjön in the north and the sea in the south. In the clear water swim, among other species, large sea trout and whitefish, both of which offer outstanding sport fishing! The average weight of sea trout is about 4 kg and the world's largest whitefish was actually caught here. Yes, that was the case until 2018, when a whitefish over 6 kg was caught, but that was in lake fishing and thus not in running water, where Skräbeån still ranks at the top!The whole river is about 5 kilometres long and we sell permits to the public for two stretches of about 1 kilometre each. The upper stretch is in Bromölla and the lower one in Nymölla, where the river meets the sea.In Skräbeån, trout fishing is permitted with fly, spinning and angling (but not on the marked stretches downstream of the bridge in Nymölla and at Collins mill in Bromölla). We welcome both younger and older people, beginners and experienced anglers, to try their fishing luck! The fishing season always opens on the first Saturday in February, then we fish until 30 September.Sales outlets:Tourist Office/Kulturpunkten/Library Hermansens gata 22 Bromölla Monday-Thursday 10.00-19.00 Friday 10.00-18.00 Saturday 10.00-14.00 Summer hours: Monday-Friday 10.00-18.00 Saturday 10.00-14.00Järnia BrödernaStorgatan 32, 295 31 BromöllaTelephone: 0456-280 50Monday-Friday 08.00-18.00Saturday 08.00-13.00 Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 14. HistorySkräbeåns fisheries management association was formed in 1952 and has since then actively worked to promote sport fishing in Skräbeån. PurposeThe association leases fishing rights from Skräbeåns fisheries management area association in order to offer recreational fishing to the public through permit sales. Funds received are used for fisheries management measures in the river and to improve service for anglers. Facebook: Fishing in Skräbeån
