Tämnaren

Tämnaren’s FVOF is a water belonging to both Heby and Tierp Municipalities, located in Uppsala County. Lake Tämnaren is a relatively shallow lake with an average depth of approximately 100-130 cm. The lake is, however, rich in fish and offers fishing mainly for zander, pike and perch. Winter fishing is the period that attracts the most anglers, but ice-free periods also work well; it is best if you have access to a boat. During mainly the summer season, the water level can sometimes become very low due to insufficient rainfall. This makes fishing particularly with a casting rod more difficult. It is recommended to check the conditions regarding water level before obtaining a fishing permit. Some fishing competitions are held annually. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Tämnaren’s Fishing Conservation Area Association consists of landowners around Tämnaren who have a share in fishing in the lake. The purpose is to offer the public the opportunity to fish under controlled conditions. The association sells fishing permits and sets fishing rules intended to maintain the lake’s fish stock at a good level.
