Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 14 years. Welcome to Munkfors Fisheries Conservation Area ! We offer interesting and varied sport fishing, above all in Klarälven around Gamla Bruket and the power station. Here is Klarälven's largest waterfall, with many exciting fishing spots. Downstream of the waterfall and behind Laxholmen there is the greatest chance of catching trout and grayling. North of the large falls is Hästskoholmen, which can be reached via a pontoon bridge and has a shelter and barbecue area. Hästskoholmen is a nature reserve with interesting fishing for whitefish, as well as perch and pike. The fisheries conservation area also includes fishing in certain lakes around Munkfors, including Västra Sundtjärn, where Klarälvsöring was stocked in 2022. There are many small brooks and streams with brown trout, including the lower part of Ranån downstream of national road 62. A number of shelters, adapted for people with disabilities in 2022, are available around the fishing spots in Munkfors. We also have a put-and-take water: Spraktjärn. That lake lies southeast of Munkfors; follow the arrows before Klingevi sports ground. The permit costs 200 kr / date and is purchased via Swish at the lake or from the Tourist Office or Frendo. Rainbow trout are currently stocked.
