Övre Gla fisheries management area associationWelcome to Övre Gla FVOF, which comprises Lake Övre Gla with surrounding lakes and tarns, a total of seven lakes and 32 tarns. The area is for the most part situated within Glaskogens nature reserve, see www.glaskogen.se, midway between Årjäng and Arvika in western Värmland. The association was formed in 1944 and has since then undertaken fish-promoting measures such as fish stocking, habitat management work, removal of migration obstacles, placement of brushwood fish shelters etc. Liming of the area's lakes and tarns began during the 1970s and has continued annually since then. The area's lakes contain perch, pike, trout, burbot, eel, whitefish, vendace, salmon trout, roach, bleak, smelt, minnow, common bleak and stickleback. The area's tarns mainly contain perch. The association's aim is to continue developing fishing sustainably.
