Västra Örten

Lake Västra Örten lies in Forshaga and Karlstad municipalities approximately four mil north of Karlstad. There are two main routes to the lake, via national road 62 and Deje or via national road 63 and Molkom; take either of these and then drive towards Mölnbacka. Parking and a launching ramp are available at the lake in Mölnbacka; an accessible jetty and wind shelter are also available there.The lake has an area of 1100 hectares and is surrounded by varied nature, including high mountains. There is rich birdlife and islands with, among other things, ancient burial grounds.Good fishing for zander, pike and perch. There are one or more accessible fishing waters in the area. Handheld tackle only, no trolling. The association manages the fishing in Västra Örten; the aim is sustainable fishing with natural reproduction of the lake's species.
