Tvärträsket och St. Blåbergsträsket

These two lakes, Tvärträsket and Stora Blåbergsträsket, are situated high up at a suitable distance from Skellefteå for a day or evening trip (approx. 40 min from Skellefteå by car). If you want to spend some time in very pleasant natural surroundings without disturbing traffic or city noise, then this is the place you should go! At both lakes there are a number of wind shelters with barbecue areas and toilets. There is a large, fine accessible fishing pier at Stora Blåbergsträsket. During the 60s, the lakes were treated so that only salmonid fish are present. We have also focused exclusively on stocking Arctic char and salmon trout. In addition, there is brook trout that the association catches with rods from the streams flowing out of the lakes. Stocking is carried out in autumn in connection with the closure of the water, normally from the last day of September until late winter or early spring, when we reopen, exact dates are posted at the lakes and at the fishing permit machine. The Arctic char bite best in winter and during the weeks immediately after the ice breaks up, but naturally they bite throughout the season. Salmon trout can also be caught throughout the season. The absolute highlight for all dry-fly anglers comes at Midsummer +- a week or so, when the sandsjöslända hatches. If you do not manage to hook them, you may see how it hooks during the hatch! Every year trout weighing between 3-5 kg are caught during this period; these are fish that have been in the lake for a number of years and have acquired the characteristic dark copper colour. In addition, there are a number of unlocked boats marked with names and telephone numbers; these may be borrowed if you call and check with the owner. Float tubes are of course welcome, and at Stora Blåbergsträsket there is also a road all the way down to the water so that you can unload a boat you have brought. In the area there are one or more "put-and-take" waters with introduced salmonid fish. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15.
