Önskasjön FVO

Önskasjön is a wilderness lake of 869 hectares of clear water, located 7 mil north-west of Örnsköldsvik, 1 mil outside Trehörningsjö. The shoreline is 2.9 mil long. Önskasjön has been regulated for at least 200 years. The maximum depth is approximately 56 m and the average depth is 15.2 m. Trout, Arctic char or rainbow trout have been stocked annually since 1969. Recently, however, the lake has become particularly appreciated for its very large pike, as a C&R competition called Önskegäddan was held for 10 years. The lake also contains the shrimp Mysis, present since the Ice Age, which forms the basis for all fish here. We have a wilderness campsite without service facilities, with space for approximately 10 caravans, beautifully situated in Nordsjöviken close to the water. Fresh water, wind shelters with split wood and outdoor toilets are available. 4 boats, 2 electric motors and 4 batteries are available for hire. A small cottage can also be hired, with a wide bunk bed, table and 2 chairs, but no heating source. Dammviken has an accessibility-friendly jetty and accessibility-adapted outdoor toilet. There are 9 wind shelters with fireplaces and usually split wood around the lake. There is a beautiful bathing place in Hemviken. A concrete launching ramp is available in Nordsjöviken and natural launching in Ekorrviken. The fishing area is accessibility-adapted. Handheld tackle only. The guardian must have read and approved the applicable fishing rules and regulations.
