The fishing conservation area's beginning is marked by a sign, approximately 500 metres above Märkesforsen. Märkesforsen is situated north of Stintbäcken, approx. 15 km above Hemavan. The area then extends up to Strimasund, where the boundary runs along the eastern side of Vilanäset. Överuman is a large and partly deep lake, with inflow from fish-rich streams. From Överuman's outlet, a 5 km long river stretch (Umeälven) runs down to Klippens fiskevårdsområde. The eastern shoreline of Skafsbäcken in the area marked on the map is included in the fishing conservation area.Summer fishing:In summer, a visit to the fish-rich streams that run down along the shores is recommended, as is fishing in the river stretch from the outlet and downstream. Note, however, that fishing is prohibited 100 m downstream and 50 m upstream of the dam at Umfors.Winter fishing:The whole of Överuman and the river stretch from the outlet and downstream within the area are an eldorado for ice anglers.
