Stöcksjöns FVO To preserve our resource and try to maintain a natural balance in the water between predatory fish and prey fish, the following applies: Maximum length of Pike: 90 cm. (all pike over 90 cm must be carefully released back after capture, i.e. catch and release) Maximum size of perch: 40 cm. (all perch over 40 cm must be carefully released back after capture, i.e. catch and release) You may keep a maximum of 5 perch and 2 pikes that are shorter than the above-mentioned maximum size per day. Fishing may only be practiced with a fishing rod, bait and hook. When trolling and float trolling, a maximum of two paravanes may be used on each side. Please be considerate of others using the water near you. Net fishing and the intention to jerk fish is prohibited. If you intend to fish for pike during the warmer months (May to September) we ask you to only use one hook. This is to ensure that the larger individuals are released as gently as possible. After the spawning season when the temperature rises until the water cools down again in the autumn, the pike are easier to catch as they have a higher metabolism (digestion) which requires them to hunt more. They can also use their strength to the fullest during the warmer months which makes it critical when handling large pike. Therefore, we ask you to only use one hook during the warmer months to be able to easily unhook them. Due to increased fishing pressure on pike in the last 10 years in Sweden in general, we have seen many horror stories in waters where large individuals have been caught and treated with careless handling, which has led to worn and thin pike that are passé. Should this happen in Stöcksjön, it could lead to us making a decision to protect the pike during the warmer months. So once again! Fish that are to be released back are treated with care! Other: do not fish from private piers (does not apply to the landowner of the pier) and be considerate of people bathing.
