Ottersjön is relatively close to Sundsvall-Timrå. It is easy to go there for the day and take a fishing rod and picnic basket. From Sundsvall, travel easily westwards via E14 and at the Torpshammar exit turn right towards Gimåfors. From Timrå, travel via road 320 towards Sandnäset and Djupröra. Ottersjön has a good stocked fish population of Arctic char, rainbow trout and trout, but it should also be possible to catch the occasional perch. There are windbreaks at several places around the lake, and below the barbecue shelter there is a large jetty. A fishing permit is required to fish and special fishing rules apply. We also ask you to submit catch reports so that we can monitor consumption and maintain a good fish stock in the lake through continuous stocking. The fishing permit must be carried during all fishing in Ottersjön; checks may take place. Poaching will be reported to the police. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 12.
