The boat launching site has been newly renovated with increased width and new gravel at HornbetasjönHornbetasjön, Mossebosjön and Skogsjö Fiskevårdsförening welcome everyone interested in fishing to our lakes!Fishing is permitted all year round.Spin fishing and trolling are common, but it is also fine to fish with bait, fly fish and ice fish.In Hornabetasjön, zander has been stocked on several occasions and the most recent stocking took place in 1999 with fully grown fish.Hornbetasjön, Mossebosjön and Skogssjön are the three lakes included in Hornbetasjön's fisheries management area, where pike, perch and roach are abundant. The largest perch caught has weighed 1.6kg. The lakes are located approximately 10km west of Gislaved and 20km south of Tranemo. The altitude above sea level ranges from 208 to 200 for the 3 lakes. The lakes are moderately nutrient-rich and the shores are mostly flat. There are elements of gravel and sand. The vegetation consists of sparse - moderate reeds and pondweed. A little history:On 29 October 1963, several interested fishing-rights holders gathered in Abborrhult to form a fisheries management association. Three lakes were to be included in the association's activities: Hornbetasjön, Mossebosjön and Skogssjön.Each fishing-rights holder contributed 5 kronor - and this formed the association's start-up capital. At that time, a permit for one year cost 20 kronor.In 1977, it was decided to invest in a more permanent organisation and a cadastral procedure was carried out in which each fishing-rights holder was assigned a percentage. The only income is from the sale of permits and all money goes towards different types of fisheries management.
