Fröåtjärn is best known for its untouched char population.A wild water that can be reached in both summer and winter. The proximity to civilisation, yet a wilderness experience, is what Fröåtjärn offers. The tarn is situated very beautifully, approx. 500 m north of Åre Björnen centre, with magnificent views towards Åreskutan. Barbecue areas and shelters are located by the tarn on the eastern side along the old road. Årebjörnens cross-country ski tracks run around the tarn. Fishing permits are sold via iFiske, but also at ICA Björnänge and by Arild Fröseth in Svedje (Björnänge Lodge).
