Hängasjön has an area of 415 ha, a maximum depth of 20 metres and an average depth of 3,5 metres. Hängasjön is a species-rich lake with several species such as perch, bleak, silver bream, bream, crucian carp, ruffe, pike, zander, burbot, roach, vendace and eel. Stocking of zander during recent decades has produced a successful result and made zander fishing in Hängasjön popular among sport and recreational anglers. Zander has decreased greatly in recent years, largely due to heavy fishing pressure. Fishing with "Live Scope" and live sonar or equivalent technical equipment is prohibited. NOTE! New recommended minimum size for zander 45 cm and maximum size 65 cm. Fishing for zander at depths greater than 8 m is not permitted. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 16. Only 2 rods per angler and only dead bait fish may be used. Hängasjöns FVOF is an active association that uses income from permit sales for measures such as stocking fish and arranging brush shelters etc. is not permitted by the County Administrative Board to stock more zander!! so be careful to release those under 40 cm and those over 65 cm, otherwise the zander will probably disappear During recent decades, zander have been stocked in the lake. A place for launching boats has recently been made.
