Transjön, Svansjön m fl vatten

Transjön-Svansjöns fisheries management area is located in the border region between Småland and Halland. From both Halmstad and Ljungby it is only a half-hour drive to reach the lakes. The fishing waters have plenty of perch, pike and roach. Tench and bream may also be hooked. The landscape is dominated by older spruce forest with several smaller inland lakes within a five-kilometre radius. Via the lakes begins the tributary of Fylleån, which empties into Kattegatt on the Halland coast. The fisheries management area is part of Fylleåns Vattenråd. In the largest lakes, Transjön and Stora Svansjön, it is possible to launch your own boat and there are also opportunities to fish from a jetty or from land. At low water levels, it may be unsuitable to use a boat motor in some of the lakes because of stones just below the waterline. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 16. Transjön and other lakes fisheries management association has roots as far back as the early 1940s. In 1988 the association was reorganised into Transjön- Svansjöns fiskevårdsområdesförening with the constituent lakes Transjön, Stora Svansjön, Lilla Svansjön, Strutssjön, Åkersjön, Lillasjön, Hallasjön and Sutaresjön. The association's purpose is to manage fishing in the lakes included and to make fishing available and accessible to the public. The fisheries management area's income is used to promote fisheries and water conservation within the area.
