Lina älv inom Dokkas

Lina älv flows through Gällivare municipality, joins Ängesån at Linafallet and continues to Kalix älv. Dokkas samfällighet offers fishing along an approximately 20 km continuous stretch on the south side of the river, as well as in tributaries. If luck is with you, you may catch grayling, trout or salmon (perhaps pike in the current). The easiest way to get here is via road 394, approx. 35 km south-east of Gällivare. At the bridgehead on the north side of the river there is a spacious rest area accommodating several caravans. Fishing at the bridge is excellent, but if you want to explore the rapids downstream, drive through Dokkas village and turn down towards the river along one of the forest roads. Upstream—from the village of Mettä-Dokkas—a forest road winds along the river at a couple of points (signposted). In 2018–2019, fishery-conservation measures, upgrading and refurbishment of the fish ladder at Linafallet were completed, as well as restoration of spawning beds with the help of an excavator. In 2020, the upstream migration of salmon doubled compared with previous years. You are welcome to try your fishing luck. Handheld tackle only Dokkas samfällighet is managed by landowners and comprises jointly owned property such as land, water and fishing rights in the villages around Dokkas.
